Farmers have told the that they intend toplanrt 340,000 acres of cottonn this year, a 19 percenrt increase over 2008. Corn acreage is expectedf to be down 6 percent overalplat 650,000 acres. This is down 20,000 acrees from March intentions anddown 40,00p0 acres from last year.
