SoHo will open at 80 S. Pauahi Street in a renovated 5,5000 square-foot space that will includse a bar and an area forlive performances. The Pauah i Street location, between Bethel Street and Fort Streett Mall andnear , was occupied by Mall Cafe until April. That bar had been cite by the Honolulu Liquor Commission in receny months for unsanitary conditiones and foroverserving alcohol. The commission also receivedd a petition from community member s opposing the renewal ofMall Cafe’se license because of alleged drug dealing and frequent Mall Cafe’s former owner, Saiming Corp., had been tryingh to transfer its liquor license to the Union Mill Investment.
SoHo owner Danieol Gray, former general manager of the Loft Gallery and Lounge on Hotel said he was approached by Union Mill Investmenty to open a new venue in the Gray plans to open part of thelounge 3,000 square feet for this month’s First Friday eventr downtown, and open the remainintg space in August. Gray describes the new venuew as a mixof music, fashion and photography in a trendhy and upscale setting.
