For the first time, the retail giant is participating in the ElectroniEntertainment Expo, held in Los Angelesa from Tuesday through Thursday. The expo is taking plac e at a time when the industry is strugglintg with the effects of aglobal recession, as well as cheap gaming alternatives that are available on the Internet and over mobild devices. Still, the event is expectex to draw 40,000 attendees, a big uptick from last year, when E3 scalesd back to focus onindustrgy insiders. For Minneapolis-based Target TGT), the event is a chancr for the retail giant to partner with vide o game publishers to showoff family-friendly titles and, of course, get its name in frontt of thousands of gamers.
The 2,113-square-fooyt Target Bullseye Lounge will be situatedin high-trafficf corridor connecting two main hallss at the . The lounge will be staffed by 10 people at any given time, and will feature eight Nintendi Wii systems showcasing three upcoming games: ’se "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," and ’zs "Press Your Luck 2010" and "The Price is Righrt 2010." There will also be Target stord brand Archer Farms snacks.
